I grew up in the Phoenix area and attended both college and law school at Arizona State University. I earned several awards in law school, and I was named the Outstanding Oral Advocate of my graduating class.

I have always practiced personal injury law and have only represented injured people, not defendants. I began my practice in 1985 at one of the largest personal injury firms in Arizona where I trained with some of Arizona's finest trial lawyers. I practiced in Phoenix, eventually opening my own firm before moving to Tucson in 1994 and joining an existing firm. In July 2004, I again opened my own practice, which I have structured to maximize personal contact with my clients.

Excellent Results
I have handled all aspects of personal injury and medical malpractice cases, including many jury trials. I have secured numerous significant jury verdicts and settlements for my clients, and I am recognized by defense lawyers and insurance carriers as a competent and effective opponent. I will be happy to provide you with a list describing some of my highest verdicts and settlements.

Professional and Government Service
In nearly 20 years of law practice, I have been consistently recognized by my peers for the quality of my work. I have been invited to teach trial advocacy, personal injury and medical malpractice law for the State Bar of Arizona, the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the National College of Advocacy, and in programs at both the ASU and U of A College of Law. I was invited to sit as a Judge Pro Tem for the Arizona Court of Appeals.

I am also a firm believer in service to the legal community. I have served on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association since 1992, and have served in every officer position, including President in 2003. In that capacity, I have spent significant time working with state legislators and other state and national leaders on laws affecting my clients' rights. I have personally written important pieces of legislation that were enacted by the state legislature and signed by the governor. I also represent the interests of personal injury victims in the courts as AZTLA's Amicus Curia Chair. In this role, I appear regularly in both divisions of the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court. This work in state and national government gives me a unique perspective and unique credibility regarding my clients' needs.

Highest Ratings by My Peers
Professional recognition by other lawyers is evidence of skill and excellent results. I have the highest rating--"A-V"--available in Martindale-Hubbell, a nationally recognized directory of lawyers, rated by their peers. I am listed in their Directory of Preeminent Attorneys. Starting in 2002, I was listed in Best Lawyers in America, as a result of feedback from other attorneys. In 2003, I was named Plaintiffs' Lawyer of the Year by the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel, an award that specifically recognizes a combination of effectiveness, professionalism and ethics. In 2004, I was also appointed by the Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court to serve as the only attorney member of the Committee on Superior Courts, a committee of judges overseeing the workings of Arizona's courts of general jurisdiction.
